About The Farmer's House
The Farmer’s House provides a variety of programs for adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities. A supportive, positive environment is the foundation of the structured programs which emphasize meaningful activities that support the acquisition and retention of a variety of skills. The goal of The Farmer’s House programs is to empower our Farmers to live a meaningful life and encourage positive interactions through vocational, recreational, and transitional programs.
The Farmer's House initially approached Angela to gain her expertise and guidance on choosing between two other web designers. They were wanting to redesign their basic HTML site and had been given two different approaches to consider. After listening to Angela's suggestions, The Farmer's House decided to offer Angela the opportunity to design their new site instead!
The Farmer's House wanted an online presence that told their story, would be easy to manage, cost effective, and orientated toward growth of an online market. This new website needed to provide a way to collect and archive news stories, press releases, and multimedia to highlight the programs and events. They also need a way for users to access applications and other types of document forms. Their current website had a basic HTML table calendar with a few dates listed but did not provide the ability for an end user to subscribe to their events or easily utilize their GPS on mobile devices to navigate to these events. With the variety of audiences and types of events The Farmer's House serves, it was important to provide a way for end-users to keep track of upcoming events and the locations to these events. The Farmer's House was already utilizing a digital newsletter program and some social media that needed to be integrated onto their new website, however this was expanded to reach a greater audience.
After working with Angela to design their web site, The Farmer's House approached her to continue with them on their marketing needs which includes flyers, banners, and continued support their website.
